Cancer Resources on the Internet

Cancer Survivor's Network (CSN)

Cancer Survivors Network (CSN) is a service of the American Cancer Society.  It is a nationwide virtual cancer support community available to you 24 hours a day by logging onto the ACS-CSN website or by calling toll-free 877-333-4673

You can read or listen to survivors sharing stories, discussions, insights, and advice.  People can access specific topics easily.  CSN offers the advantage of having these taped programs available by telephone or computer 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  This service complements and offers a good alternative to those who can't or prefer not to participate in traditional support services.

National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS)

NCCS is the only patient-led advocacy organization working on behalf of people with all types of cancer and their families.  The NCCS website (and the free booklets and tapes available through this organization) is a good starting point for understanding and getting more information about negotiating the health care system. This website provides links to other useful websites, and guides you through them.

NCI Office of Cancer Survivorship (OCS)

This site of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) focuses on research and education for professionals who deal with cancer patients and survivors as well as survivors themselves.

Physician's Data Query (PDQ)

PDQ is the National Cancer Institute's computerized listing of up-to-date and accurate information for patients and health professionals on the latest types of cancer treatments, clinical trials, new and promising treatments, and organizations doctors involved in caring for people with cancer.
