The Hope Tree
The Hope Tree helps families talk about the difficulties children face when one of their parents has cancer or other illness. Dr. Wendy Harpham teamed up with renowned author Laura Numeroff (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie) to write this marvelous children's book.
With illustrations by acclaimed David McPhail, The Hope Tree tells the stories of a group of children, depicted as adorable animals.
The stories, philosophies and advice touch the heart of any child dealing with the changes and stresses of family illness.
The first edition of this book, entitled, KIDS TALK, was released as a limited edition softcover publication as part of the 1999 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign sponsored by Sprint PCS and Samsung.
The Hope Tree was featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, where Oprah talked with Dr. Harpham and her daughter, Becky.
It was then published in hardcover by Simon & Schuster. To purchase click here.
