Personal Note

This blog is designed to share a physician-survivor’s perspective on getting good care and living as fully as possible while dealing with a health challenge. When I share personal stories of my successess and failures, it’s not for you to learn about me. My aim is to encourage you to think about your own challenges in ways that help you find the best path for you to make your life the best it can be.

Today, I’m making an exception by posting a personal update. Over the past 1 1/2 years, some blog posts have linked to articles in which I’ve shared intimate stories of my latest medical challenge.. In response to those of you who reached out to check on me, I have good news: The aplastic anemia has responded excellently to treatment. I feel better than I have in a long time.

After 32 years of living and exploring Healthy Survivorship, I’m still learning every day. Last year’s events brought home that the pursuit of Healthy Survivorship can be hard work at times…and that the effort is always worth it.

Life is good.
